Our story
Studio Kiku was founded by Billy DeCola and his wife, Kaori, who began offering laser tattoo removal services in 2019 out of Billy's private tattoo studio in Burnaby. What started as a specialized service has since grown into one of North America's leading laser tattoo removal clinics.
Studio Kiku is now recognized as a Key Opinion Leader for Candela, the global leader in medical aesthetic devices, for its excellence in service and results.
The Kiku
Studio Kiku is named after the Japanese Kiku, or Chrysanthemum. The Kiku carries rich symbolism deeply embedded in Japanese culture — associated with virtues like longevity and rejuvenation, and admired for its ability to bloom late into the season. A metaphor for endurance and vitality.
The Founder
Billy DeCola
A seasoned tattoo artist with a deep understanding of pigment, skin, and laser technology. Billy developed a unique tattoo removal system that sets Studio Kiku apart from other clinics — built from the chair, not from a textbook.
His journey in tattooing began in 2009 at the world-famous Miami Ink Tattoo Studio in Miami Beach. From 2010 to 2012, he gained international recognition as a cast member on TLC's hit reality series "NY Ink", which aired worldwide.
That foundation — years of putting ink into skin, watching it heal, watching it age — is the edge that doctors and franchises can't replicate. Every protocol at Studio Kiku is shaped by it.
